Different type of dividers

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using garden/flower dividers to use as the 'walls' for your cage instead of those wire grids? I have had these now for almost 3 weeks and there has been no problem, I wanted to check with everyone that they are safe. The other 3 sides are proper walls, so I have constructed the one side with these plastic divider thingies. They dont ever chew on them and have not tried jumping over them or pushing through them. I did have it on the ground for a while and my one boy did try to stick his head out of it but ever since I have put their cage on top of a table there seems to be no problem because they cant see a space for them to run to (as its on the edge of the table)

The reason I am asking now is that I just want to be sure about using this stuff and also because I want to expand the cage even more than it is now by buying another table and lining it up with the other one. I havnt tried the cubes yet and could change to using that, I had just started using this stuff because I didnt know any better at that stage.

Here is the picture of what it looks like. Please let me know if anyone has tried this and if it was successful. Thanks
