Oh, he seems like an awesome piggy. I know how you feel, my piggie died last march and it was hard. I have since adopted 2 new piggies and they are the best thing ever. This may sound silly but I had a bracelet with his name on it and I carried it around and slept with it for weeks. Slowly I got back to normal and retired the braclet to a box with all his other things. I still take them out from time to time. Enjoy your vacation and don't feel guilty if you don't think about him every minute (even though you will). He's in piggy heaven and remember, time heals everything!
