i personally wouldn't use it for a larger bird or anything that is going to climb up and hang off the sides. they don't recommend them for chinchillas or anything that will bounce around in the cage because they can, although i think it would be difficult, destroy the cage. plus the size you'd have to make it, i would think height wise, it might get a little unstable.
