I agree with pennykit&amanda. You really do need to ask a re-homing fee. If they are really tight on money and can't afford the vet (or even maybe the proper food) do you think they are going to pay a re-homing fee? As well as to keep them from becoming snake food. I think $30 is reasonable as well.
