Re: Experiences in getting a pig from Craigslist

I found a female on CL that was only a couple miles from my house. They put their phone number in the ad and it was probably close to a week before I was able to reach them. Don’t ask me why they placed the ad right before going out of town, but they must have pulled it as soon as I drove away because it wasn’t there later that night when I tried to show my new girl to a friend.

If you want him, keep trying. I still watch local pigs (actually, I’m ready for another) and some of the postings are there for weeks, disappear and then come up again with new pictures or re-worded. Oddly enough, those seem to be the ones with the most info whereas the generic “Brown and white, 6 month old guinea pig needs new home due to move.”, come and go pretty quickly around here. I’m not sure if it’s because they get dumped after a few days or because people who give a little history about their pigs are more selective about where they end up.
