Re: My C&C Cage

Hints and tips.. I'd suggest having a hammer on hand for putting the cubes together if you're a weakling like me. Or pliers so you can squeeze two together and get them to fit snug in the connectors. As for the fleece bedding, make sure you've washed and dried it at least 3x so it can wick away the urine to the underbedding. I find 2-3 layers of towels work great as an underbedding. I have two guinea pigs and twice a week for a full towel/fleece change and wash is enough to keep the stink away for me. I use binder clips (those black clips with two silver ends that you can fold either way) to keep the fleece attached to the sides of the coroplast and to keep my piggies from getting under it. I'd have two water bottles and two dishes of pellets for your pigs and that's to make sure each piggy has their chance at the water bottle and eating pellets in case one pig hogs it up. Hmmm what else.. I use a plastic Itso brand shallow conainer to keep hay in under the hay rack I have, it keeps the hay from falling on the fleece as much and just keeps the cage cleaner and my piggies love climbing in it and reaching up to eat their hay. Oh, and I have a little dirt devil (20 bucks at target) for vacuuming up the poops which I do 2x a day from the fleece.
