So, last month I got a little piggie for my daughter. As a owner of hamsters when I was a kid I didn't think I'd really like it. She has one at her school though and really enjoyed it. I was really surprised how attached i have become to this little guy. He is so sweet! They have so much more personality than hamsters. His name is Collin. My daughter named him. He chirps away whenever he sees me or hears my voice...or of course when he hears the closet door open (where we keep his food).

I do have one question though. We let him out and let him run around on the floor and he will climb back into his cage after a few minutes? Is he scared or does he just like it there better?

When we first got him he was kinda skittish and would run when we tried to pet him. Now he comes to the opening of his cage to be pet. He likes being held now too. When other people (not family) come over he is quiet and shy but not to us. SO cute!
