In response to your brother's comment about supplements, I think they are a good idea for everyone, vegetarian or not. While it is possible to get every single thing you need from a vegatarian diet, my guess is most people don't. It really takes a lot of thought and planning to be sure that you are getting what you need from diet alone. There are many good supplements on the market that can keep you healthy and help you get all of the obscure vitamins and minerals that are hard to come by. It is a good habit to get into, taking your supplements every morning. Just a multi-vitamin will probably do it. Just get something from a reputablt brand. Vitamin manufacturers can mislead consumers very easily. Get a brand you are familiar with and trust.
