as long as it isn't where they can pee on it it shouldn't I just got what they had on hand just look for some good with no bowing or alot of knots. With the grids on the inside they don't usually chew on the wood and with the coroplast on the bottom it doesn't get wet so don't have to worry about mildew. I made mine one grid and then cut a grid in half and used it for the upper part so it is taller and I can get my upper body inside easier to clean. They like it and I like it.
