I guess some people need to go to such lengths for their self esteem. Maybe they could do something actually helpful for animals instead, like volunteer at a shelter? Or even something nice for their fellow humans would be good--pick up trash on the street, donate food to the food bank, smile and say "thanks" to the retail wage slaves they meet.
