If you have sows you can sometimes get away with a 2x3 but I wouldn't recommend it as they may fight more. Boars must have a 2x4.
Upper levels do not count as floor space and becuase of the ramp needed to get to it count against overall floor space.
If space is tight you can try to "L" shape your cage in a corner instead of a long 2x4. |
