Re: Is this safe?

What is your basement like? Is it a living area for your family? Is the water heater in a confined area? Gas heaters can put of some fumes and piggies are more sensitive to such fumes. How close are they?
For instance my basement is accessed from the outside, has rocks, dirt and cement making up the walls, it is unheated but houses the furnace. It is inhabitable. For others their basement is lived in, with the furnace or hot water heater, etc. open or in a closet like space. It is difficult to determine safety with out having a clearer picture.
You might ask yourself, is this an area that would be safe for me to spend all my time. What about when I am asleep and might not notice if harmful fumes. Would you be willing to put your bed there?
