Re: Uh oh

Oh man, I can tell where this is going so guys, lets intro this topic slowly.

No, you should NOT breed. You put the sow at risk. There is a 20% chance of her dying just in labor and an even greater chance of her producing still borns or her rejecting the pups.

Are you prepared to hand feed the pups ever hour so they survive and pay for the imense vet bill to save your sows life just so brother pig can live on?

There is a HUGE over population of guinea pigs in the world. For every pig you buy or reproduce, two die in a shelter. Do you want to live with that?

Your sow can have up to eight babies. Are you prepared to help her nurse and provide space for all of them when they grow up since the boys and girls need to be seperated at three weeks of age.

What if she produces a lethal. She might have had a gene that didn't show up. http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...inea-pigs.html

Obviously you haven't seriously researched this idea if your just going to go out and buy a sow and plop them in with Brother Pig.

Can I take a wild guess and say that somebody said that your pig was a show pig so you spent a ridiculous amount of money on it?

And there are so many ways for you to get mor pigs. Like a shelter or someone who needs to rehome them. I really hope that youn decide to not breed.
