Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post?
Unhappy Lost ALL faith in vets.

Wanted to share some sad news. We lost our beautiful Buttercup today. She was a six year old dutch, ginger and white. She seemed off colour yesterday and wasn't eating. She always came upto to the door for a cuddle and chat.

This morning she was very larthagic and didn't seem interested at all. Her breathing was very rapid so I took her straight to the vet (who in the past has been good). He examined her and she was so brave. He said that in older rabbits their digestive systems start to detoriaate. I was told to keep an eye on her and he gave her some antibiotics. If she didn't see better by Monday to bring her back.

I felt quite daft and made to feel as if I was overreacting but left feeling reassured. Me and my son were chatting to her on our way home and gave a kiss and cuddle before she went back in her cage. Two hours later, I went to check on her (we had guests for lunch so couldn't go earlier and feel so guilty now) and she had gone.

We are so distraught. I am FURIOUS with the vet and feel as if he let us all done. My husband now has buried her and my son is sitting by her grave drawing her pictures and sobbing his eyes out. I wanted the vet to do a post mortom but husband feels we should leave her with some dignity.

RIP my beautiful girl. All our love Buttercup........will never forget you.xxxxx
