My dad has a funny way like that with my guinea pigs. He calls them fat, lazy and all sorts of names. It's just his way, I catch him throughout the day sneaking in their room and being sweet to them. Hehe

If she has any further health issues, the humane society should be providing her with vet care. My decision would really be based on whether they could adopt her out to someone else, while you're waiting until Friday.
