Mites cannot be seen with the naked eye, they are microscopic so your dad wouldn't have seen any mites on the pig. Fleas and lice on the other hand can be seen with the naked eye.
Mites often lay dormant in pigs and come out in times of stress or illness.
Has there been any signs of scratching or hairloss in your pig lately?
It could be dried food on your pigs nose or it could be something else. Was the spot there yesterday? Have you tried washing his nose to see if it comes off? Has your guy's appetite been normal? Any increase or decrease in eating or drinking? Sneezing? Labored or raspy breathing? Lethargy? |
