| Re: New Pig and Question about it's sex Since I am not a vet I can't say for sure whether it's a male or female. Usually when I get a guinea pig I always check the sex for myself to make sure I am only getting males, since the first one I got was male. Usually if it is a female the genital area will be a "Y" shape or similar with no little bump in the middle. Also on a female the nipples tend to be slightly larger. If it is male, from my experience the genitals usually have more of a circle shape with a tiny bump in that middle of that circle. As the guinea pig ages it will be easier to tell. If you are still not sure, you could always stop by your local vet office to make sure! Hope I helped! |
