However, I have a coronet and his backside does get a little messy from time to time. The only thing you can really do is trim the area as you said you do. As far as them sulking goes, try feeding them their favourite veggie as a treat when it's being done/after. Bill has never even paid attention when I trim his hair.
The other thing I do is brush him. I brush his hair with a nail brush every day at least once (nail brush is small enough but also strong enough to work through tangles). This keeps it fairly clean.
I also use fleece with only a litterbox of Carefresh, so very, very little bedding is in a position to mess his hair up.
I don't think you need to spend money getting the pig groomed. Just trim and brush and bribe if needs be. |
