Well, one thing is for sure, you can't leave it any longer. If nails curl under the feet they can dig into the pads, causing infection, pain and even broken bones. How long have they not been clipped for and do you have any pictures?
It's very normal for piggies to squeal and struggle when getting their nails clipped. Mine went crazy the first few times, you'd think we were trying to cut through their actual foot! Many people get the same reaction. It's just really scary for them because they don't know what you're doing and they will pick up on your nervousness and be even more scared. They do get used to it after the first few times, although mine still squeak and struggle a bit. They can feel the pressure of the clippers on the nail and it freaks them out a bit, that's all. Just be firm.
You need good, sharp clippers. I use the kind for cat's claws, they look a bit like little scissors, but with rounded points. If you can see the quick then cut a good distance below it. It has to be done. You just have to grit your teeth and get on with it I'm afraid, ignore the piggy protests. I get my boyfriend to cut the nails while I hold the piggy, it's a lot easier, as they often try to pull away as you're about to cut.

I know it's scary, but if you aren't sure where the quick stops, just take the very tip off, and you can do it again in a few days. It's safer than guessing if you're not sure where the quick stops. I know they squeal, and it makes you feel bad, I still hate it when mine do that, even though I can see I'm nowhere near the quick. They're just squealing because they don't like you messing with their feet, but after it's done, mine kind of look at me as if to say 'was that it? - oh well that wasn't so bad - bring me treats for my bravery!' They're back to normal as if nothing happened the moment they're in the cage.
Good luck, hope this helps. It really is easier with two people, much easier. Once you've done it a couple of times you'll be like an old pro, honest.
