Yes bermuda is a grass hay just like timothy hay. Any grass hay that your pigs enjoy eating is healthy and beneficial and should be the primary source of food for them. Bluegrass, orchard grass, bermuda, and timothy are all good types of hay. Some people also feed oat hay.
Alfalfa hay should also be fed liberally to young pigs up to 6-8 months of age. You can also get alfalfa-based pellets (most pellets are alfalfa-based, especially the cheaper brands) but my recommendation would be to give them timothy-based pellets so you never have to change the type as they get older. |
