I recently adopted two guinea pigs about two weeks ago. I was so excited to get them I gave them floor time on the third day, I think. I sat still on the floor and they ran all around me and weren't afraid. But as soon as I try to pet them they run away. Still do. I keep them in a play pen for floor time and when I need to put them back in their cage I have to trap them in a corner by shrinking the pen size.
They love floor time but I wish I'd waited for them to trust me more before I started trying to pick them up all the time. |
