Question Question about bell peppers.

On tv there is an infomercial about this container you can buy for tomatoes so they grow upside down since they are so heavy. It looks like a cylinder where you put the soil on top then in a cut out on the bottom you put in the tomato plant upside down. I thought that looked like it may work for bell peppers too since they are heavy like tomatoes. Does anyone else think it would work for bell peppers?

I'm buying 14 bell peppers a week and thought it would be nice to grow some this summer to keep from buying so many. I'm sorry I don't have a link for this product since it's just on tv that I've seen it.
