Jess is gone

I feel really horrible because I know that it is my fault that she is not here. PLease no one get mad at me right away because I know that it is my fault I just feel really sad that I let this happen to her.

A few nights ago I brought Bella and Jess home from school for break. I had them in a pen in my room behind a pet gate. My dog was so curious... she sat watching them for many many hours just watching quitely. My mom and I joked that she was watching Guinea Pig TV she was so entranced by them. Bell even came right up to te pet gate and sniffed at my dog. Then ran away freaked out like... Oh my... a dog! My was just laying down with her nose pressed to the gate quietly the whole time and did not move a muscle.
Even at night my dog sleeps in my room and can roam the house free as she pleases. I figured she was fine with the piggies. And for a few nights this break and a few nights last time I was home (a few weeks ago when I got them) she is fine... just a little excited when they squeal.

So anyways. Today I forgot to close my door when I went to brush my teeth. Right after I am done I remembered and went to close it because we have 2 cats who I know can jump the gate. (They dont even know about the piggies yet or have shown no interest but I figure safer is better) so i go to my room and my dog is in the GP pen! I dont know how she got in there she is only 15 pounds I doublt she can jump over. But. Oh My Gosh she is in there and I yell at her to get out and she does and then there is blood all over and I see Jess laying on her side and she is gasping for air. and I feel SO guilty because it is my fault. By the time we drive her to our vet (about 10-15 min) Jess is gone...

I just had the vet take care of her body. Seeing her blood all around makes my stomach drop. We had Bella checked out and she seems to be doing okie. She wasn't eating at first but now she is eating and drinking well.

I hope she is okie because now she does not have a buddy to cuddle with. She and Jess would always cram themselves into whatever corner they could. Always together.

Anyways. Thanks for reading this.

Oh and yes. Now I am much more careful with my dog. She is not allowed in my room if the GP anywhere where she can get them. Tomorrow night I may allow her to sleep in my room again. But I will put Bella in another room or on the floor of my closet with the door closed. (I have a walk in)
