My dad said he loved me a lot too, and he spent my childhood belittling me, calling me fat, ugly, denying me basic human rights, and sexually assaulting me.
He kept saying he loved me and cared about me from prison as he sent me rude letters via my mother.
In fact, he still says that to this day as he spreads inane lies about me to my extended family, while harassing my significant other in emails about how he "had me first."

You're totally right, I'm just jealous. If I had all that money, I would totally get 17 dogs that there is no possible way I could give attention, then pay other people to tend to their basic needs as they inbreed and result in suffering. But it would be okay, because I would definitely tell the news media that I "love" them.
