Gallery Rule Reminder--ALL Members read!

There have been some problems in the gallery. I LOVE that we now allow pet pictures and I love seeing every-one's pets. Some of them are really sweet or funny.

However, you must insure that your picture is clear, crisp, well lighted and shows proper care.

I underlined proper because I am seeing a lot of pictures getting uploaded that contain seeds and colored bits in the food, seed treats, mineral and salt licks and even a couple that had cedar bedding.

Those pictures are inappropriate on a forum that is firm about providing animals with proper and exemplary care.

If inexperienced people look in the galleries for ideas they may see the poor food, treat sticks or mineral/salt licks and think that those items are acceptable. We simply cannot ignore that possibility.

I am asking all members, new and old, to look over the gallery rules and then go through your gallery photos. You may have an old picture in there that shows poor food or a salt lick in a cage. We all made mistakes in the beginning but hopefully we all learned and applied better care methods as our animal education grew. It's now time to purge those old pictures

If you are looking though the galleries and see a picture that shows improper care please send we a pm with the photo link in it. I will be happy to remove the picture. It is important to send me the link because simply telling me that there is a picture in "Open Cages" that has a seed treat in it is much too vague. There are hundreds of pictures in each of the galleries.

Failure to remove your own poor care picture could lead to an infraction so I hope you all take the time to edit yourselves if necessary.

I would also appreciate it if you also took the time to remove any photos you have in your gallery that are dark, blurry or on their sides.

I'm including the gallery rules below and I thank you all in helping to keep the house clean.

___________________________________________

PLEASE NOTE:
Proper size and SAFE! Your cage MUST provide a GROUND floor (or bottom level) space of at least 7.5 SQUARE FEET--REGARDLESS of upper levels provided. Your cage must be an INDOOR cage. Outdoor runs and play areas are acceptable, but not cages or hutches.

No commercial or pet store cages! Under any circumstances. If you have some great purchased cage that meets our cage requirements, please post about it in the forums and get permission to post a photo of it first.

Not another Cozy or Hidey House Photo! We are looking for EDUCATIONAL or INFORMATIONAL photos. Others browse the galleries looking for IDEAS and examples. We really don't need another cozy photo. Pictures of your appropriate cage or unique accessory or toy or other related photo are more than welcome.

Clear, crisp, well lit photos only! If your picture is blurry, dark or on it's side or if we can't clearly see or tell what the picture is of it will be deleted.

Place pictures in the proper section. If you misfile a picture it will get moved or deleted.

Pet pictures are allowed but you must place them in the appropriate section and they must be of guinea pigs. We will not accept other animals in the photos.

No pictures of guinea pigs cohabitating with other animals. If you upload a photo of a pig sharing living space or floor time with another species, such as a rabbit, chinchilla, dog or cat, it will be deleted.

Pictures showing proper care. Please insure that you understand and follow proper care for your pets. If your picture showcases improper food, supplements or care it will get deleted. This includes pictures that show food with seeds, nuts, dried fruit/veggies or colored bits in it, seed treats and salt/mineral licks.

Any and all violations may earn you an infraction
