Money Save money on fruits and veggies.

Since all of us guinea pig slaves buy so many fruits and veggies for our piggies, I wanted to pass on a little tidbit that may save you money. I used to work at a Wal Mart and until then had no idea that they do something called comping prices.

In my local area we get a paper called a Courier Journal, it will have classified ads as well as have ad papers telling the sale prices at local grocery stores. At Wal Mart if you buy the same item as what's in the ad papers they will match the price. Say a grocery store sale paper has canteloupes for $1, then you tell the cashier and they will comp price it to $1. It has to be the same item or the same package size, and if the sale item is a name brand, it has to be the same name brand you get at Wal Mart.

The only kinds of prices they won't comp is if it is a percentage off or buy one get one free. I always take my sale papers just in case they ask me where the sale price is. I live in Alabama and have not tried to do this in other states, but I would assume this would be a company wide practice. Cashiers are very nice to do comp prices for you, but are told not to offer it unless the customer asks for it to be done. Good luck saving money!
