Re: petsmart under investigation

As I was watching this horrid video and crying, I noticed there was a place to write a letter to the owners of Petsmart. They had a few paragraphs typed in so I left them there and added my feelings in above what they wrote. I typed the first two paragraphs below and added it to the last two paragraphs and sent it to the owners of PetSmart.

Here is your chance to make a difference. Use this site to tell the owners of petsmart what you really think of them and the cruelty to animals that appears to be a daily thing.

"Dear Decision Maker,

I am an animal lover! I have many different types of animals in my home and love to pamper and spoil them. I used to love shopping at pet stores where you could see the animals, but I have stopped shopping at our local PetSmart because the employees are not knowledgable of the animals they sell.

I was talking to the employee who "orders" the guinea pigs, and she didn't even have the basic knowledge of what kind of guinea pigs you sold. They are just an item on the inventory sheet to these employees. This made me angry. I wanted to take the guinea pigs in my hand and walk out the door. The only thing that stopped me was knowing that this employee would go on the computer and "order" more from the cruel and inhumane breeders that your company uses. I WILL NEVER AGAIN SHOP AT YOUR STORES FOR SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR MY MANY ANIMALS. I will shop at your competitors stores (any pet supply store that does not sell animals). I hope and pray every day that you stop selling animals, but if you don't I pray you go out of business completely.

In a world where millions of animals are euthanized for lack of suitable homes, abandoned, neglected, and abused, no company that claims to care about animals would contribute to their suffering by breeding and selling them.

The animals you sell may be small, but they suffer and feel pain just as dogs and cats do. Please do the responsible thing, as you have done for dogs and cats: Put an immediate end to the sale of live animals. I will not be shopping at PetSmart until live-animal sales are a thing of the past, and I am telling all my friends and family members to do the same."
