Eating pigs is ok. A parade is ok, nothing wrong with celebrating an abundant harvest, be it wheat or meat. But force feeding an animal is wrong. We're all in agreement, right? |
Basically - yes. I understand that in some cultures - traditions such as this - no matter how odd or sick we find it - have a deep meaning for them religiously or culturally. I've also read some other articles with quite a different slant to this event than what's being portrayed here. Their intention is not to make the animal suffer - even though that is obviously what is going on. I love animals but I also have respect for other country's cultures and don't feel the need to interfere.
