Re: How has this site changed you?

Without this site, GL and the rescue folks I met through LiveJournal (LJ) my boys would still be in a Rubbermaid tub, alone, with no hay and a rather inappropriate diet of pellet(s) and veg.

Sadly AJ suffered many of the fates that most unknowing owners do to their pigs. He lived alone in a Rubbermaid tub, ate Kaytee Fiesta guinea pig food (the stuff with the colored bits and seeds in it) which I now know is crap food, and had no hay for the first 4 years of his life.

I found the LJ site shortly after his 4th birthday and learned about proper cages and care for these little animals. If it weren't for LJ and this site, Oliver and Twizzler wouldn't have the castle they now do...well, not really a castle like some of your pigs have, but much better than the tub AJ lived in...nor would they be living together. I had always thought one pig was fun and entertaining, then I adopted Twizzler as a friend for Oliver, and found that 2 is a stone riot! In fact, as I type this, I can hear the two of them (out in the family room for floor time) doing zoomies around the room and popcorning (Oliver wheeks when he popcorns) . AJ NEVER did zoomies or popcorns, he pretty much sat in one spot and waited for one of us to walk by and pet him.

It saddens me that AJ was the one who helped me learn the hard way about these fuzz balls. But I'm so very glad he was in my life, I'd never had such a good friend before. He's been gone just over a year now and I still miss him and his antics.

I'm sure AJ thanks you! As well as my current boys and any and all future piggies thank you for this site.
