I would definitely NOT recommend taking Dixie with you. Go to the shelter, pick whichever sow appeals to you, bring her home, quarantine her for 3 weeks, and then introduce her to Dixie. Being that it is an SPCA and not a dedicated guinea pig rescue, I wouldn't want you to risk getting Dixie sick from something that a shelter vet might not have noticed and treated for. |
