55 may refer to the number of piggies currently on the adoptables list. This wouldn't include any moms still nursing, babies under 3 weeks old, girls on pregnancy watch, or any being treated for any medical condition- mites, UTI, URI, tooth issues etc.
The group from Perris (back yard breeder/ chicken coop) was pulled from animal control the first week in December. There were 50 in that pull. There is still about 2 weeks to go for the pregnancy watch for that group. In that group, just this week, there were 6 babies born. In the last 2 1/2 weeks there were at least a total of 15 babies born from the Perris group. None of the mothers or babies are currently on the adoptables list, but within the next month, there will most likely be over 120 piggies on the adoptables list. ( Just as an observation, the Wee Companions website almost
never features all the piggies on the adoptables list.)
Anyone want to make a trip to beautiful sunny San Diego and adopt a few piggies? We have some real cuties!
