Thanks. I know I'm not the most knowledgable one here when it comes to fleece, but I like to think I can help a little. And I know repeating the same thing over and over isn't fun so I tried to get it all into one post. I did plenty of research about the actual fleece as well as Marsha very kindly helping me out on a few points.

As far as the vacuum goes, I use an ordinary upright one. It's a pet vacuum cleaner we bought to use generally round the house, but it kicked out a lot of dust which set off allergies, so instead of getting rid of it it's now the piggie vacuum.
I have tried a few hand-held vacuums (but at the time they didn't live in a C&C so I only used the hand-held vacuum for cleaning up after floor time) but I had problems with both of mine.
Hopefully some other US members will be able to say which vacuum they use.

And the pig in the first pic is my Tuppy.
