Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I had a similar thing happen. I got two sows from a pet store before finding this site, went to Florida for a long weekend and when I returned we had a baby in the cage. Luckily they all are girls and we kept her, but it took a few days to figure out what was what. The mother should be nursing so the babies should be ok not eating the food too much. Flip them over and look, their nipples get really big while they're nursing so you should be able to tell which is Mom that way. The sexing pages are great in helping to tell which is which. If you do take them to a vet, which I HIGHLY recommend, make sure it's an exotics vet that knows about guinea pigs, a regular vet might not know enough and mis-sex them....resulting in more babies.
Good luck. |
