Pinkbunny, you know the mentality that we have here. Breeders and petstores are a bad way to go when getting an animal. You ask what would happen to that pig in the store YOU bought? Someone else would have bought him. But by YOU buying as opposed to adopting, a pig in a shelter was euthanised that you could have saved.
This impulse thing is annoying, my boyfriends sister has three kids and when she found out I had pigs she HAD to get them one. She didnt talk to me about the best place to get a pig/supplies/pig food/cage size etc. She had to have one right then. So off to Petco they went and dropped near $100 on a pig, small crappy cage, food with seeds, and alfalfa hay. SO because of her impulse buying not only is she sending a pig at a rescue to piggy heaven, but shes not taking proper care of her OWN pig that she dropped $100 on! This is the problem!
I suggest that if you are so pro petstore and breeder you keep it to yourself. Most of us here dont care to hear it. |
