| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! The second pm she sent me, thanks I understand and respect that. However, what I do not respect is how a most of the shelters charge an unreasonable amount for the gp's. From the research I have done, I have found an average amount of about $45. I understand that this cost can be from veterinary services such as neutering/spaying, but for the average person it doesn't really make sense to buy a $45 2yr. + old guinea pig as apposed to a $30 baby from Petco.
I understand that there are a lot of gp's in shelters these days, and because of that I have already planned out that I will either find a good owner or I'll keep them myself.
I personally wouldn't give a piggie to someone who thought that a 2+ year old piggie wasn't worth the adoption price, not to mention the fact that she started out wanting to breed, I'm not willing to risk it, thanks, but no thanks. |
